72 years of independence and here we stand today. Women today have successfully made their presence in all walks of life. We, women, have stepped beyond the limitations set by our society by being writers, politicians, lawyers, actors, poets, pioneers, philosophers and whatnot. But our creativity, imagination, decisions, even our bodies are owned by the most important men in our life, our fathers, brother, lover or husband. We have come a long way but there is so much more to be done. Women too, like men, have the right to choose what kind of life they want to make, lead and live.
  • Harassment - You want to be a victim or a survivor?

How do I fight against harassment living in a country where consent means nothing because saying NO to a boy is what a good daughter does because if I say yes easily, I’ll be labelled as Easy, Characterless even Slutty. Such is my country, my independent country where the majority of the population which is women are still subjected to house slavery, domestic violence and mental oppression. We might not be the rape capital (Delhi) of the world but we surely sell our daughters at the name of marriage (Walwar- a rural Pashtoon custom of marrying their daughter off in return of some cash/ cattle or gold demanded and decided.)

  • Every Girl’s Checklist For This Eid

The clock is ticking, more sunsets are concluding the last days of Ramzan and women are busy doing the last few rounds of shopping which continues till the date mostly. We, women, are complex creatures, they call us shopaholic, we call ourselves perfectionists. We try to make the thing as perfect and complete as they ought to be, as they deserve to be. • Ramzan and the Self-contradictory Practices on Social Media

Ramzan holds an important place in our hearts and it is celebrated as the second most prominent religious celebrations for Muslims. Fasting in Ramzan is not about restraining from food and water only but it is more about being kind, being patient, being moderate in our actions, food and spending.  Every hunger is to be curbed and every bad habit to quit in Ramzan. I see many people contradicting their words and actions. There are many things going wrong is Ramzan, for instance banning eating in many public shows people don’t really have a very strong faith and patience that comes with Ramzan and prices of all items surging high while the so-called Islamic state should ensure prices are controlled so every Muslim can do Iftar and Sehri as they should.
