One of the wives of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Princess Haya bint Al Hussein has reportedly escaped Dubai and flew to Germany with her two children. She is the daughter of Jordan’s late king and the sister of current King Abdullah. She married into the Al Maktoum dynasty in 2004. Al Maktoum shared a poem on Instagram showing his anger, betrayal and frustration. The poem is titled” You Lived And You Died” and the lines say

“You betrayed the most precious trust, and your game has been revealed

Your days are lying over and it doesn’t matter what we were and what you are”

People are responding to this news supporting the fled wife. Everyone is well aware of the oppression against women in Emirates, of how they are deprived of their basic human rights. Dubai is a highly chauvinist country and women around the region have been trying to seek asylum in other countries but failing constantly. The German government has not announced Princess’s presence in their country yet, stay tuned for updates.
